Was just checking out the Shadowlands List to see what's been updated, and found this update interesting.
"June 2008 Update - Warning: The local residents do not appreciate investigators. And will chase you with their shotguns."
Thought this might be worth mentioning, since I know this a popular location. I thought I remembered the cemetery being in the middle of the road or something, I had no idea it was on someone's property.
I went there a few years ago. The gate to the cemetery was open so we went in. We walked around for about 10 mins til we heard a house door open (creeking noise) then heard it slam shut. I figured it was someone coming to chase us away, so we left asap to avoid confrontation.
If you need help with a locaion in the Northeast corner of Indiana, I can help.
Little Egypt isn't on private land. Contact Marshall county and they will let you in, but only during the week days. And YES, some of the neighbors are a bit crazy. The place has been the site of so much vandalism over the last 8-10 years. I grew up very close to this cemetery and about 40 years ago me and my friends spent many a night in there and around the area. We never damaged anything, just had fun. But the youth of today has no respect for anything. Back to the subject, yes many things did happen while we were at the cemetery. From strange lights on some of the grave stones, orbs that you can see with your eyes. (This was long before digital cameras) people being touched, loud noises very close to you and sometimes in the middle of the group. And yes, sometimes a baby crying. I never saw a spirit but a couple of my friends did and they would not go with us when we went back there, or to this day. Another place that you can some nights hear a woman screaming is just to the west in the woods down the road. Don't know any more about her, but really frightening! From all the things that have happened to all of us over the years, we do believe it is haunted.
I grew up just over on 7B Rd. So hey Oldman, bet I know Ya! Also used to hang around Little Egypt. There was a bunch of really strange and spooky things happen to us back then. The place is a lot different now than it was back then. It only had a partial fence around it and was not damaged at all. But the grass was always very tall and unkept. I too never saw a ghost in the cemetery but lights, loud noises and being touched and the crying was happening all the time, usually before midnight. Never anything dangerous, no being scratched or anything like that. I also remember hearing the woman screaming in the woods to the south west of the cemetery. Very loud and painful sounding. Never found out what that was about. I think that woods is probably more of a haunted place than the cemetery. But the unexplained does happen at Little Egypt.
