I grew up around the corner from here, and still live within a mile. The red "blood" is paint and has since been paved over. It is Sharp Cemetary, there are no witches and never have been.. It is a family cemetary that is in need of major restoration due to vandalism. It would be a great service project for a group to take on. There are Sharps, Brights and Rinkers buried here. I am planning on researching these families and bring their final resitng places back to the condition it deserves to be in

I grew up out in Cowan and in 2000 a group of my friends and I went to this cemetery at night. (We were seniors at the time and looking for a good scare.) At that time, there was a "blood" spatter in the road just past the 90 degree angle where the cemetery is located. We got out and inspected and it appears to have just been paint. I took a drive out there this past summer and the road has been completely paved over and the splatter is no longer there. The legend we knew at the time was that to get to the actual witches circle you had to follow a path past the back of the cemetery to where an old barn was located. The barn was said to have a pentagram painted on the side of it and there was also a circle of rocks near the barn where the witches would gather. We were too spooked by the cemetery to investigate further, so I don't know if the part about the barn and circle is true, but I would like to know if anyone else has heard this part of the story or has actually seen this barn. I would also like to venture back to see how much the cemetery has changed in the 13 years I was there, but all of my friends are too chicken to go with me. Lol

We recently conducted a mid day to early evening investigation here But did not get any bad feelings, or evp evidence. We did get a few unexplained Mel meter hits and a few Psb-7 responses. We ran video also but did not see anything in that either Our overall feel was it was old and peaceful. In response to a few things people stated to the best of my knowledge no one individual can own the graveyard these are managed and ran by county that they are in. Also most have hours of operation meaning its ok to be in there up till early evening hours.

Hi, I'm a native of Muncie and have many friends and family who've been to the witches cirlce, legend you may not have known: It is said that if you walk in a straight line pass the gravestones, you will count 13 headstones...but then when you walk back, you only count 12. Just a legend, my sister said it happened to her, and when she went to witches cirlce she heard a little girl whispering but she was with her boyfriend and three other males. WARNING- If you go to the witches circle, beware of the owner. He has dogs and lets them loose if he believes people are there because they are trespassing. The same night my sister was chased out by these dogs and almost got bit

There must be many places with this "legend" because my whole life growing up there was always a place I heard of and actually went to called "13 Graves" between Hartford City,In and Markle,In that is about halfway between both. Same story of 13 down and 12 back. It is located along the Salomonie river just up a gravel road turning to east of highway 3 and just less than a 1/2 mile on the right.

I took a little road trip today. I read about a "witches circle" in Daleville so I called a friend who grew up in Daleville (and still lives there). I asked if he knew about a graveyard and he told me if it was there we would find it. We did. Pretty old graves....the oldest date I found was 1833 on a stone that had been washed down a hill- almost into the creek. There is a nice mowed path to the graves and most of the yard is managed, but there are LOTS of head-stones in the weeds ouotside of what is mowed. I know some people from Madison County that help preserve and restore old cemetaries. I am going to see if they can do a little more clean-up around this one. I didnt see or hear anything unusual, but I am guessing the return visit in the evening hours would be interesting. I also did not see the witches circle but I found lots of ripe rasberries i grew up out by there and theres a blue house that for whatever reason anyone whos ever bought it has moved out within months.. its empty now.. my bus used to go by there every mornin n at one time i remember someone killing their self there

I used to live not even 1/2 of a mile south from the witches circle, grew up right by it. we used to go down there some nights just to get a good scare. I lived on 500 w just south and fished off the bridge right near it as a kid. There is another old cemetery about a mile south on 500 West in the middle of a cornfield. very small and can't be but 20 by 20, really old grave sites.

I've been to the second cemetery where you walk down a hidden path many times. I've walked the many paths there but don't seem to find any evidence of a circle ground with stones or anything like that. (And I don't think witches are going to cross the river to sacrifice anything when they have a cemetery right there for use) If anyone reading this knows of a certain circle with stones that they aren't telling about then please say something. We'll be alright with the Holy Spirit inside us!!
Thanks, PSA

Does anyone still check this message board? I have questions re: white lady.
I haven't been out to this cemetery in awhile, but it is one of my favorite places to visit. And this story about the outline of a white lady... unbelievably, it is true. I think. Anyway, I saw her. I wasn't expecting anything. I was busy swatting mosquitos that particular night and was ready for my friends to want to leave. It was... ha. Curious, to say the least. I didn't know about the white lady until I looked the place up online. At least, I don't have any memory of any knowledge of this white outline of a woman walking across the grounds. But you know the mind Is tricky. Still, I really think I saw her. If anyone checks in here, which is a long shot, please let me know if you'd like to chat. I don't know if I'll find my way back here, so my email is savagexjaime@gmail.com. Thanks.
