Should you ever visit the area Please be respectful of the Miami Indians and their beliefs. It would be wise to talk to the Miami Nation before camping there as they own that property and you could be considered trespassers.

My wife were camping at the state park there with another couple and we visited the seven pillars on 08/11/12. I knew nothing of the history or reported hauntings at this location; we went there because we heard that the limestone formations were unique and beautiful. When we got there I was some distance infront of our group as we walked to the river bank (South side) as I stood by the waters edge I very clearly heard the sound of Indian chanting coming from the formations. The others were talking as they came closer to me and I turned and gave them a "shhhh listen" they were quiet but I didn't hear the chanting again. At the time I didn't tell them why and they didn't ask why I shhh'ed them. I have always been sensitive to spirits both hearing and seeing, and maybe being part American Indian helps also I don't know. I didn't share any of this with my wife or our friends until the next day. My wife and I want to go back again just the two of us and our friends, well..... she was a little freaked out by it and her husband didn't say much. Again I knew nothing of any spirit activity at this location so I had no preconceived expectations of hearing or seeing anything, I feel that eliminates anything in my imagination. I found this web site when I started to research the seven pillars to find out if there have been any other experiences like mine. Interesting area I will be going back when I can spend some more time there.

I am from Miami County and spent most of my life there. Right in the heart of Mississinewa. Yes, there are several areas that have activity, and if you are sensitive.... there are several places that are difficult to visit. There's some very violent history that has imprinted energy that is still felt today. I have to chuckle about some of the stories.... because they are so far fetched, however, yes, many are true.... Definitely worth looking into.... But, be careful.... you are liable to get just what you are looking for, if not getting more than what you are bargaining for. I can't wait to read more....! Enjoying the stories.

I now live in Peru, but I’ve been going to Okie Pinokie for yeaaars considering it’s been a hangout spot for decades. I’ve always felt a presence and not a welcoming one either, if you’re sensitive to these things which I am then you’ll just know immediately that something isn’t right. I’m respectful when I’m out there and I wouldn’t think about ever playing with fire ( Oujia) in those woods, maybe that’s why I haven’t had anything follow me home or felt physically threatened. With everything that has happened throughout history and as of recently last year, there was a brutal murder that happened on the very same land that’s already tainted. It’s beautiful during the day but at night it’s a whole other world

I am interested in, if there are any mounds in area of the SEVEN PILLARS, and even Miami County. I just wrote the book, "OHIO, 88 Counties of Giants" and am well into a book for Indiana. Are there any mound builder skeletons, mounds that have been opened, large ceremonial items or any Native stories about Giants. In Lovelock giants usually dwelled in caves, it seems like this would be a prime place, i would be surprised if it wasnt. Where there are 7-12 feet skeletons stories of ghosts always follow those places. Contact me on Facebook at Greater Ancestors.
