Hey everyone, just thought I'd send a heads up to those of us in Northwest Indiana. Most of us know that Michigan is only a stone's throw away from us, but I recently hear some info a cool place you might want to check out. A new casino was just put in last year in August called Four Winds just over the border down Highway IN-39. Working at a Bar and Grill and talking to some local kids, i recently learned of an abandoned Hospital or Mental Ward or something just down the road from the casino back in the woods. What little i over heard him say, it sounds like one awesomely creepy place. So i'm going to do some more investigating and see what I can uncover...don't bother looking at google maps though..satellite image of the area is quite dated and grainy.
Any people familiar with the area will also be keen to learn that it would be located only about 5 miles from Posey Chapel though...like i said, i'll update when i learn some more

I'd love to hear what you find out. Please let me know. I'm in Niles, so about 30 minutes away from New Buffalo.

Well alright, Got some news on this location. First and foremost, good news, it's real....sort of. What this very large building is, would be a mansion way back in the woods. I mean large, 3 story pillar style place. Apparently, after much investigation, the word on the street is that it was some Doctors home, Doc Val as the story goes. He helped mental disturbed children and even had some patients living at his house. Upon hearing this info, i immediately thought shenanigans but after a google survey of the area...I'll buy it. The area is heavily wooded on all sides and has fences running all around it. And, after tonight I also saw lots that did not make sense about the place. It's a 3 story mansion that's been abandoned for at least 5-7 years. The front of the mansion is strewn with remodel debris and kitchen equipment and dumpsters everywhere. On the left side of the building is what appears to be a shed and more stuff everywhere. My buddies and I investigated what we could and decided we'd come back another time and see if there was more out....creepy place though maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=New+Buffalo,+MI&sll=47.754098,-54.84375&sspn=111.409929,316.054688&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=New+Buffalo,+Berrien,+Michigan&ll=41.774248,-86.70511&spn=0.003737,0.009645&t=h&z=17 Its the white house in the clearing in the middle of the woods

another update, some advice if you head out there
First of all, The house is apparently owned by the recently opened Four Winds Casino just down the road, they are using the house for storage and as a very large shed, so to speak. It is considered a federal felony for trespassing out there as it falls into legal protection of Indian Reservation Land.
Now with that said, I've been back out there several times despite all of this. Though I do not believe this place to haunted in the least bit, it's definitely fun to get freaked out when going back there, driveway is about a mile long into the woods, animals and brush are everywhere. Then all of a sudden the driveway opens up onto the house and it's huge. Around back you can get in and yes it's full of discarded lumber, signs, beds, screws, and everything else. the upstairs is extremely creepy though tattered and torn wall paper, windows busted out, etc.. The basement is completely flooded but you can see a few things remain in it. On the back porch is a very large old pool table. The entrances are littered with tons of shattered glass.
I'll see if i can get some pics up later

Here's some pics After taking the long walk up the mile long driveway you see this My Friend decided to knock and see if anyone was home Some of what's scattered about the driveway This is just a zoomed picture of one of the second story windows, but i'm pointing at the "phantom dresser" as in you can see here but not in the other picture of the house. It would be the center window of that picture After going in and investigating, this was my eventual reward
