Location Name: The Old Railroad Bridge City/Town/County: Columbus, IN Legend: Back in the 1920's a woman had a baby out of wedlock. She couldn't handle people and their objections. She took herself and the baby to the middle of the bridge and jumped. They found the woman's body, but not the body of the baby. People have said they have seen a creature on two legs with yellow eyes guarding the bridge around Midnight . If you are by the bridge at night you can sometimes hear the baby cry. On a full moon you can sometimes see and hear the ghost of the woman on the bridge looking and calling for her baby. More often than the other two you can see the creature with yellow eyes blocking the path to the old forgotten railroad bridge not wanting anyone disturbing the bridge or the area. History: Directions: Located off a park on 17th street. Park your vehicle on the left hand parking lot. Follow the path leading from the lot into the wooded area, before long you should see a tunnel that goes underneath railroad tracks that sit on a steep gravel incline. Climb up the incline to the top of the tracks, you should be able to see the bridge to your right, but if you can't just walk in that direction. GPS Coordinates: 39.2164802559, -85.9286631081 Photos: Sorry for the dark pictures. Video: EVP or other Sound Files: Misc: Not sure how safe the park is at night, or how often it's patrolled by police.

I have lived in Columbus my whole life, and im pretty sure the real bridge is located at 39.177994, -85.880081 it is actually hidden and high enough for a woman and child to possibly die if they fell off also the path to it is almost like walking through a tunnel

Well it's definitely more isolated than the bridge I visited. How would one go about getting to it though? It doesn't seem to be by any roads or anything. Closest thing I can see is parking in one of the lots for the big buildings off of S Marr Rd, or approaching from the other side parking by what looks to be a big electrical grid. Also do you know if the bridge is on private property?

Sorry it took so long I've been busy. The buildings you see are actually many factory's and small businesses. I always park at one nearby that doesn't mention no parking. Then you follow the tracks if i remember correct they end then there is somewhat of a path just to the right follow that and you will end up right at the bridge which is located on public property. FYI the best time to go is under a full moon during the Fall Equinox. Also please be advised that if you want to cross the bridge stick to the steel beams. There is some wood left from the track but its rotted and disappears shortly after the bridge begins. If i can ill try to get out there soon and get some pix.

I've only been out to the real one once, but I know you have to park and walk out in the woods a bit. A friend and I crossed the bridge, walking on the bottom part of the steel beams. We didn't catch anything out of the ordinary, but it sure gives you a weird feeling. Sorry for a late response on an old thread. Didn't realize how old it was.

Are there some upto date directions? Perhaps a little more descriptive. I live on 17th. I've lived here my whole life- not sure where you're talking about, if it's not the one at Noblit.

The post is talking about the one at Noblitt, but the comments are talking about a different one over on Marr Road.

Probably breaking a rule for posting on a forum that's been so inactive for such a time, but I do remember my dad taking me down to Noblitt as a little girl. He told me constantly that I should never go there at night, because "weirdos" hang out there (a few examples that I heard from him are Homosexual men and child molesters). I do remember the tracks well, and I think I found the bridge before when I went there by myself during the day. It's also really creepy at night. A friend and I went down there once around sunset, and we were trying to find a way back home. Since I do believe in the afterlife and spirits, I think it is a possibility that a forlorn woman could be haunting the place.

Those pictures are of the Noblitt Park bridge. These are some of the actual bridge.

So anyone have the exact park it’s located at? Is it a Clifty or Mill Run Park? I wanted to visit in person
