There is an old abandon kkk house near rays crossing in between Shelbyville and Rushville. Its in a small area called rays crossing. Looking at the house, it was really freaky. There were several deaths of some kind in that house. Now, there are barbed wire fence around it, but i wish i could get inside. You must check this place out.

Shelbyville Haunted House -The tale behind this haunted house is that a young girl was accidentally shot and killed here. Because a lot of people were conducting witchcraft in the house and because there was a lot of injuries to kids meddling about the house it was fenced off. You can still get close enough to hear eerie voices talking and moaning. Other things heard here are nervous pacing on wooden floors and scratching on the boards that cover the windows and on the doors, all coming from inside the house and getting louder and louder as if whatever was the cause was growing more and more desperate to escape this house. You know you are at the right house as soon as you see it. It is a mansion covered in graffiti sitting all by itself after the bridge. It has a light shining on it and no trespassing signs out front. If this was her family home, this spirit will be rather strong and a dependable fright until the house is dismantled. One source says that you cannot miss the house while another says the house has been demolished. I can only map its approximate location and I feel that the house is no longer there.

after looking closely at the most current google earth image, the only area that looked like what is described is part of a farm with no house at it. It does look like an active dairy farm, however, due to the abundance of cows. There are a number of very nice looking homes in the area hilighted on the map though. Looks like it is gone, if the location is correct.

The KKK House is still there, I went to it two weekends ago. It is owned by a local farmer and it sits on his land. He hasn't tore it down yet. So to set the record straight, the house is still there and everyone who loves ghost hunting should definitly visit it. It sits on the left hand side of the road, and yes the windows are borded up and graffiti is written on the house. Huge white pillars hold up the building. The only problem with this house as mentioned by the reply before mine, is the bright street light that shines on it. Be careful not to get caught, for friends of mine have been chased while being on the property..

The story I heard was that there was a fight between the KKK and a group of Black Panthers and the Black Panthers killed some of the Klan members and strung them up in a big tree in front of the house and the person who told me that story and claimed he'd been there once before it was fenced off said that if you pulled in the driveway and your headlights hit the tree just right, you could see the dead bodies still swinging from the tree.

Whomever claims there was a hanging at this house, is incorrect. Not a drive way to pull into and there isnt a tree in front of or even around the house. Only cornfield around it. There is a very weak elec fence that goes around the property. Not even strong enough to hurt u, I personally grabbed it and moved it to get in. No sounds, no scratching, no pacing, no voices, no dead people hanging in tree lol. Just a abandon house. And the google maps shown do not even have the right house on them.

This is not a kkk house, no one was murdered there, there are no paranormal anything. I was born and raised in this house, we moved after my twin sister was accidently killed in morristown indiana. My cousins own the property now. All these rumors are nothing but lies and are hurting my family. My great grandparents owned this house and it was in our family for hundreds of years. Please stop any rumors you hear about this house as none of it is true.

Please stop any rumors you hear about this house as none of it is true. Sorry bro, but I've had an experience there. It may not be related to your loved one, and I'm sorry for your loss. But I was standing outside the fence and chucked a rock at the roof, the exact moment of impact we heard what sounded like a 12ga shotgun firing just feet away away from us. Granted, it's not evidence as out there it very well may have been a firearm. But it scared the hell out of us and we noped outta there. Would your family be open to my cousin and I actually investigating? Best case scenario we have hours of silence, worst case we prove it's an unrelated anomaly. Let me know @ rhodesianwarrior@yahoo.com -Kevin

It isn't showing on google maps because the drawn map posted has it to far west. If you look on the google map just below the drawn map, it's located right about where the compass point is. The small green square in the middle of the grey field. The spray paint has been painted over, the KKK an idiot teenager painted on it is long gone. There's a barbed wire fence around the house and the owner plows and plants all around it on three sides.

11/8/2020. House is still there. One truck came up and wanted to know if I was writing a story...no. Then we talked about these rumors and he gave me the turth. Family owned it. Girl got sick and was taken to the hospital. She died. Family was grief stricken and sold the home. New owner started remodeling the house on the inside and ran out of interest and money so it just sits. End of ghost story or the KKK story.

Go to ThornHaven Manor in new Castle if u want to see a real haunted house. Also go out to the mt. Lawn area. I know a guy who lives in Ray's crossing probably has the biggest and nicest house out there. He's lived there for years. It's a made up story by locals no facts to it. At least the ones around new Castle are real. If u want stories about the KKK New Castle was a hot bed of klan activity up until 2000. Right next to new Castle Walmart their is a huge klan cross on land owned and used by the klan for rallys etc...The cross can be seen from road 3. This is not a urban legend , this is fact. New Castle along with other small towns are still today called"sundown towns".
