Out of curiosity I looked up "Schitzoid Embolism" on google and found this. Archived on Garfield.com Garfield.com archivesOn the left click on search and go to October 23, 1989 read thru the 28th for the least funny week of GF ever. Apparently Garfield is a textbook residual atmospheric haunting. What must have been going on in Mr. Davis' life to write this and actually go through with publishing it? Most people don't know about this week and I think those that did see it just like Garfield choose to ignore it and deny it. Though I must understand not everyone feels the same connection with the beloved feline as I do. (we are the same age. Well, GF is 2 months older) Interestingly enough October 23 is also the day I started dating my wife (in 2002, 13 years later to the day)

Yes I walked around in a reverie all day yesterday contemplating this. Good news though; In a later interview Jim Davis said the comic was written in the spirit of Halloween and meant to scare people. (Yea, mission accomplished WTG, Mr. Davis) Garfield is not dead nor is he reliving his life in denial as a ghost. The experience was just a bad dream. Hooray Garfield lives!
